Recycle cell phones for a good cause
Millions of mobile phones end up in landfills every year. On an average, people replace their cell phones every 18 months. Can you imagine how many cell phones are being needlessly thrown away? Most of these phones are still working or some can still be fixed and resold. Some broken phones are still valuable. How? Well wireless devices contain materials such as gold, silver and platinum. Gold is used in the phone’s main circuit board. If we can use some parts of an old phone to create a new one it means that the need to produce new materials will be less thus helping our environment to take in less toxic materials as well. Have you ever thought how to recycle cell phones for a good cause?
If you don’t need it, it doesn’t mean that somebody else doesn’t need it. People in developing countries are one of the beneficiaries of this noble cause. Who ever thought that an old mobile phone can change a person’s life? I think this is simply amazing. I was thrilled when I found out about this! You can donate your mobile phone so these people who are in need can use it or sell it and use the proceeds to help somebody out. Before you make a move on how to recycle cell phones, you have to make sure that all services associated with the phone are terminated. Next thing that needs to be done is the deletion of all contacts and all other information. I’m pretty sure that you don’t want other people to be browsing through your personal messages and contacts. After doing so, remove your SIM Card. You may still want to use it in the future or you can just get rid of it.
To recycle cell phones is a brilliant idea, I can’t even find the perfect words to describe it. Something that you think useless can actually make somebody smile and you’re helping save the environment from tons of toxic substances. There are plenty of websites online which support phone recycling for a good cause. If you want to use the cash to buy something else for yourself then that’s fine. For as long as you put your old mobile phone to a better use then you’re still contributing to the betterment of our environment.
